Description
Hello , please read the questions carefully and include all requirements, You need to look at this website listed below to answer some of the questions so please make sure you do that because my instructor is so mean with that. The paper is 750 word just the answer should be 750 word. Answer the questions like a paragraph for each question. Please make sure you answer the questions completely.
Like most disciplines, sociology has a professional organization, which is called the American Sociological (ASA). Take a look at webpage: www.asanet.org and the current sections of ASA: www.asanet.org/sections/list.cfm.
In NO LESS THAN 750 WORDS, answer the following questions:
(1) What are your career (my career is engineering) goals or general areas of interest? (Health, education, etc.) What has influenced you toward this career interest (what social forces? Parents? Cultural perceptions of that profession? Think sociologically!) If you aren’t too sure of your exact career trajectory, that’s fine. However, the more specific you are, the easier it might be to answer the following questions. (15 points)
(2) Based on what you read in the first chapter from our textbook on the sociological imagination and what you saw on ASA’s website, how can sociology be applied to your personal career goals? (For example: Sociology is/does ________. I want to do _________. Sociology will help me do _________ because…) (15 points)
(3) Looking at the ASA sections, which three sound the most interesting to you? Click on the three you selected and read their mission statements. Can you think of ways to apply the interests of these sections to a job you might envision yourself doing? (For example, if you want to be a nurse, and the section on mental health seems interesting to you, how might you apply to mission statement from that section to your own career goals?) Do this for all three sections you chose. (30 pts in total; 10 per section)
(4) For the last part of this paper, I want you to think about how methods (the methods are for example taking a survey, or interview or things like this) (ch. 2) might assist in better understanding your career interests. (For instance, if you are interested in becoming a teacher, what ways can we use scientific methods to better understand and work with students? Would you conduct interviews, why? Would you want vast survey data, why?) Who would you sample? Why? Think about how you might research your own field! (25 pts)
Remember this is an academic paper, so double check grammar and spelling before you submit (go by the writing center for help if needed!) Be sure you have written approximately 3 pages (750 words)(5 points for length), formatted to double-spaced, with 1-inch margins, in Times New Roman 12 point font. Have some fun with this and be creative! (10 points for formatting)
