Description
Hello, I NEED help in writing the Cell genetic lab report. I don’t need a full lab report I only need help writing the method and the discussion for my report. I’ll give you all that you need to do so. Pleas see the information below.
The Methods section: should be written in paragraph format and should describe what was done IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Because this is the work that YOU HAVE DONE, it should be in first person (using the “we” voice). Should be separated by action, for instance:
Bead simulation. Include: how you designed your selections, what you used for the two different alleles, how you counted each genotype because of your selection pressure scenario, the genotype and allele composition of the starting population, and how many generations you ran the simulation.
Make sure to also include:
– What the “expected” allele frequencies are based on the null hypothesis (the null hypothesis for this analysis is that the allele frequencies will NOT change over time).
– Explain how you calculated the chi-squared values by comparing the observed and expected allele frequencies.
– The chi-squared equation.
– How you use the chi-squared table to determine the p-value for your simulations.
– The chi-squared table.
The Methods section is the “how” section; you are explaining the purpose of the chi-squared equation and how it is used to test the null hypothesis. You will report the actual numbers of your observed allele frequencies, the chi-square value, and the p-value in the Results section.

Discussion:
Here you will have a brief summary of your results and conclusions, and discuss the analysis of your results. This should be ~2 paragraphs. If you include information from outside sources, they must be properly referenced. You should be using some of your outside sources to discuss any differences you describe between your simulation data and the known allele frequencies for the disease you modeled.
Make sure to address the following questions:
– Did your predictions for the analysis match the results? Explain.
– How did your statistics correspond to your predictions?
– Was the null hypothesis – that the population would not change over time – accepted or rejected?
– How did your statistics (chi-squared and p-value) correspond to the null hypothesis?
– Did the bead simulation and the online simulation with the same conditions (population 60 / 5 generations) give the same results? Explain.
– Were there any striking differences between the simulation with small population (60) versus the large population (1000)? Explain.
– Do the results of the simulations align with the known population dynamics of the genetic disease that you modeled? Has there been a steady decrease in the “disease” allele frequency in populations over time?
– Why might your simulation data differ from the reported frequencies of these disease alleles? How does human behavior factor in to this genetic disease?
– If you were to run the simulation again, how would you change the “rules” and why?
– What questions do you still have after performing this experiment?
