Reminders

  • If you have not done so already, reread all of the other information for this assignment in the assignment module

You must address all of these points for your submission:

  • Make sure questions are in your final submission.
  • If you are using an alternate submission format (audio, video, posters, PowerPoints, etc…) you do not need to use the questions in the submission, but you must be sure to respond to all of the questions.
  1. Discuss the roles and jobs of the following personnel at this scene: (1) Sergeant, (2) First Officer on Scene, (3) Detective in Charge, (4) Crime Scene Technician.
  2. List three (3) specific questions you as the investigator would ask of the victim(s). Explain why you asked the questions you asked.
  3. List three (3) specific questions you as the investigator would ask of the witness(es). Explain why you asked the questions you asked.
  4. List three (3) specific questions you as the investigator would ask of the suspect(s). Explain why you asked the questions you asked.
  5. Follow up for question # 4 – Do you use Miranda when questioning the suspect? Explain the process.
  6. Develop a media/press release with a “Wanted” poster for this incident.

Submission Format

  • This will be an “original work.” Do not be tempted to use the work of someone else and claim it is the work of this group.
  • This submission can be in writing, by video, audio (podcast), slideshow (PowerPoint), infographic or poster. Creativity is a good thing here. NOTE: I cannot grade material outside of Canvas – be sure the submission is accessible in Canvas with no links taking me outside of Canvas.
  • All submissions should have a short reference list with at least two additional sources from outside of the course, referenced in APA format.
  • If submitting by writing, the submission should be at least 750 words.
  • If submitting by Powerpoint, the submission should be at least 10 slides with an audio voice over offering context to the slides.
  • If submitting by video, audio or podcast (Canvas Studio (Links to an external site.) as an option), the submission should be at least five minutes and include a written transcript.
  • If submitting by infographic or poster, the submission should be complete and legible on a computer screen.

Grading

  • This assignment has a rubric.
  • No late submissions accepted.
