Please see attached for replies. Below are the instructions.

Look at your peer's three motivations. Then, post replies to other classmates’ threads. In your replies, find a passage of Scripture that explains how these motivations are pursued biblically or which explains how these motivations for excellence in writing fit within the context of a God-glorifying life. You may not use a passage that was referenced in the thread or by another student in his or her reply; therefore, you will need to be specific and purposeful in how you respond and reflect on the Scripture.

As Christians, it is our responsibility to hold God's standard to the best of our ability. We are a representation of him. We are to strive to bring forth our best efforts to show integrity, stewardship, and truth. It is important for Christians to walk in integrity and be honest in our writing. In order to be honest, we have to give proper credit when it is due by using proper citations.

To be authentic, one must be true to themselves and put in the necessary work to accomplish that. Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (KJV)."  As a writer, that is your voice and that is your power! It allows you to speak volumes with your paper and pen. It is the opportunity to show your craft. You have to show good stewardship and take on the responsibility. Are you dedicated to your craft as a writer to make sure you are producing your best work. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication into putting in the necessary work to write a paper. You have to research, write, and edit for the final draft. Writing this is your chance to walk in the spirit of excellence of truth. You have to be committed as a writer to bringing new ideas to the table, being clear in what you are saying, having clarity, and paying attention to details.  Are you going to be dedicated to the hard work it takes to bring forth the excellence of a writer? As a writer, you are doing an act of service. This is your way of servicing the people. As a writer, you can motivate, encourage, educate, and influence through your writing. How you use your power is all up to you but use it wisely because our pursuit of excellence is not something that should be considered optional-it's a mandate given to us by God (Murbarger,2024)

When writing, Christians should strive for excellence as not to mislead readers. It is very easy, at times, to lie unintentionally and plagiarize. To avoid plagiarism, citing your works and paying attention to detail when writing is extremely important. The Bible states in Leviticus 19:11 "Do not lie. Do not steal. Do not deceive others." ( Leviticus 19 | NIV Bible | YouVersion, n.d.). When you conduct in plagiarizing, you are lying, stealing, and cheating all at the same time. This is not God-like and goes against what we as Christians are taught as we grow in our walk with Christ. Citing the works that you use in your writings can save a lot of heartache in the long run and keep you from lying, stealing, or cheating. With all of our writings, as Christians, God manifests himself with in them and shows our readers that we are Christians. Paying close attention to detail in what we say in our writings, as well as our opinions that we express, are a direct reflection on Christians everywhere. When thinking of how Christians are perceived through one's writings, I think back to deployment and going to the different countries and ports of call that we visited. When pulling into another port, our superiors always remind us that we are United States Navy Sailors, and that we are representing the Navy in its entirety, not just ourselves. This holds the same for Christians, especially with the types of persecutions that the Christian faith faces today. Think of Westboro Baptist church, and how the Christian community was looked at when they protested the funerals of soldiers. This is why it is imperative that we follow God's teachings, and should be motivated to be exellent in all that we do.
